This document provides an itinerary for a week-long intensive program in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest focused on immersing participants in indigenous Shipibo culture and plant medicine practices. The program includes visits to Shipibo communities, workshops on plant medicine preparation and Shipibo art, nightly ayahuasca ceremonies, and forest walks led by a local shaman. The goal is for participants to reconnect with nature and learn from indigenous wisdom about living sustainably on Earth.

Join us for a life changing adventure in the Amazon rainforest!
In the course of one intense, action-packed week, we will
immerse ourselves in the fascinating culture of Pucallpa and the
Ucayali region, visit Shipibo communities, work with powerful
teachers (plant and human), and reconnect to our primordial
roots the planet on one of the most unique and ancient places on
Earth. We will discover what indigenous wisdom can teach us
about living in harmony with planet--ourselves! The results will
be pure magic!

Angela O'Hara, a Canadian
artist, educator, and social entrepreneur,
has been traveling to the Upper Amazon of
Peru for the past six years. Having
originally come to the Amazon to do
fieldwork for her PhD on indigenous
knowledge and visionary art practices of
Pucallpa, she has focused her work in
exploring new and visionary
methodologies in creative research and
cultural innovation.
"We need a radical change in how we
imagine our relationship to the Earthone
that can create a more sustainable and and
prosperous life for all of us in the
future. Indigenous wisdom can teach us
how to see and understand our world
differently. This disappearing knowledge
may hold the key to our survival on this
planet."
6. DAY 1: AFTERNOON
CITY TOUR
After our meeting, we will head off to
explore the bustling city of Pucallpa,
including a tour of the bustling waterfront
and central plaza. We will also visit the
shaman's market. There we will also have
a special pusanga workshop to learn the
preparation of perfumes made from
magical Amazonian plants that bring love
and luck to the wearer. Following we will
enjoy a traditional Amazonian fish supper
at a local restaurant.
7. DAY 2: MORNING
SANTA CLARA
The next morning we will gather at
for breakfast at the hotel before
heading to Yarinacocha to visit the
humanitarian organization, Alianza
Arkana, for a presentation about
their Santa Clara revitalization
project. Following we will board
pekapekas and travel by the
Ucayali river to the Shipibo village
of Santa Clara where we will learn
about local traditions such fishing
and farming practices. We will also
volunteer on their community
permaculture gardens where we
will learn about their use of native
plants and visit their intercultural
school where children are taught
local traditions and language and
beliefs as part of their school
curriculum.

10. DAY 2: AFTERNOON
SANTA CLARA
For lunch, we will be honoured by
a specially prepared community
feast of patarasca or fresh fish
steamed in banana leaves. We
may even sample some pirahna!
After lunch we will relax and later
regroup for a meditation and
grounding practice in preparation
for our first Ayahuasca ceremony
that evening with Shipibo
shaman, Juan Rocco in the
village maloca.

12. DAY 3: MORNING
SAN FRANCISCO
The next morning, we will have
breakfast in the community center
in Santa Clara and a
group integration circle about our
experiences the night before.
After making our goodbyes, we
will then visit the neighboring
Shipibo village of San Francisco
to learn about the ancient practice
of slip cast Shipibo pottery as well
as the fascinating meanings
underlying the mysterious Shipibo
quene design patterns. We will
also have the chance to buy some
unique souvenirs there and at the
nearby embroidery market,
including materials for our “Mesa”
project.
28. Proceeds from our intensives will be invested
in the building of our centre and conservation of the
surrounding threatened rainforest.
