To whom it may concern,
Andy Minchev has been employed as an architectural intern at COBE ApS for two terms during
the period of 1 September 2013 to 30 June 2014.
Andy has been partaking in projects in the field of urban planning and architecture at our
practice in Copenhagen.
It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Andy who has been a strong and vital workforce. During
Andy’s internship, he has been involved in projects spanning from large-scale architectural
design competitions to smaller scale architectural projects. Andy has been engaged with the
following projects:
The Tip of Redmolen, Nordhavn, Copenhagen, Denmark
Competition for design of an office building including public space design for Redmolen Pier in
Nordhavn.
Office building concept development, and Andy worked with volume and facade studies, physical
models, 3d modelling, drawings, visualizations and the final presentation.
Vejle Fjord Harbour Bath, Vejle, Denmark
Comission for design of an active mobile harbour bath structure.
Harbour bath concept development, plan studies, 3d modelling, drawings, visualizations, final
presentation.
Bellakvarter and Bella Center Congress Hall Expansion Proposal, Copenhagen, Denmark
Comission for masterplan of the Bella Center area in Ørestad including sketch proposals for an
expansion of the existing Bella Center Congress Hall.
Andy worked with the congress hall concept development, volume, facade and plan studies,
physical models, 3d modelling, drawings and visualizations.
Gellerup Bypark, Aarhus, Denmark
Competition for public space design in Gellerup.
Andy worked with 3d modelling, drawings and visualizations.
Tampere Travel and Service Center, Tampere, Finland
Competition for a masterplan of a railway including a transformation of the existing city railway
station.
He was working with the masterplan concept development, station transformation concept
development, volume and plan studies, 3d modelling, drawings, visualizations and the final
presentation.
Nine Elms to Pimlico Bridge, London, United Kingdom
Competition for the design of a pedestrian and cyclist bridge across the river Thames.
He was working with concept development, bridge deck studies, 3d modelling, drawings and
visualizations.
2. Andy has been highly motivated in his work. He acts very dedicated to the process, and has been
taking in new methods and programs fast. Already after a short period in the office, he has been
able to take on responsibility, work independently and contribute with his skills or knowledge to
the projects.
Andy has been an enthusiastic intern to work with, and is furthermore a great team player and
colleague, contributing well to the social environment in the office.
After his internship, Andy continued at COBE as our Model Room Organizer, being responsible for
materials, tools and products, as well as organizing all models, and coordinating the model
builders’ time.
I can warmly recommend Andy, as an intelligent hard working graduate, and an aspiring young
architect, and wish him the best in his future career.
