Sound InsulationTesting
Compliance with UK Building Regulations Part E, Section 5
BSRIA provides UKAS accredited sound insulation testing on all types of buildings for compliance
with Part E of the Building Regulations in England and Wales and Section 5 of the Scottish Building
Standards.
Sound testing can also gain credits for Code for Sustainable Homes and other assessment schemes,
demonstrating improvement over building regulations.
Under Building Regulations, a sample of dwellings may have to be tested to demonstrate
levels of sound insulation. This has now been extended to new schools and is also
regularly specified for buildings such as hotels and nightclubs.
BSRIA can advise on the correct number of tests required and, where applicable, the
required increase in performance. BSRIA will work with your project teams, by testing
outside normal working hours to minimise site disruption.
BSRIA Compliance
VentilationTesting
Compliance with UK Building Regulations Part F, S3
BSRIA tests domestic ventilation systems in accordance with Part
F of the Building Regulations 2010 and the supporting guidance to Scottish Building
Standards section 3. These tests are required for almost every dwelling - not only
for system type 4 (Continuous mechanical balanced system with heat recovery), and
type 3 (Continuous mechanical extract); but also for type 1 (Background ventilators
and intermittent extract fans).
We validate the system and check that it has been commissioned correctly and that
the required airflow is achieved.
BSRIA Compliance utilises the latest instrument technology for Ventilation
testing that is all UKAS calibrated, ensuring the client receives the actual flow
measurement, not a benchmark standard.
BSRIA Compliance: Helping you meet Parts L, E and F of the Building
Regulations in England and Wales, and Sections 5 & 6 of the Scottish
Building Standards and Part F Northern Ireland as well as individual client
requirements in the UK and international markets.
