6. INDUSTRIAL PREPARATION OF AMMONIA (HABER PROCES)
Haber process is the preparation of the ammonia
in the industry level
In the presents of catalyst, Nitrogen and
Hydrogen combining together at high
temperature and high pressure is known as
Haber Process
8. Explanation of Haber Process
Nitrogen, Hydrogen that seperated through
fractional distillation are taken in 1:3 ration and
compressed in 200 to 300 Atm pressure
This compressed mixture passed through
sponch Iron (Catalyst)
Catalyst placed at 45 ºc-500ºc temperature
containing chember
9. .
The air mixture getting from chamber
containing 10-20 % Ammonia
It is then passing through a cooler and
ammonia is liquified
N2 , H2 remaining is recycled to ammonia gas
Forming ammonia is removed in intervels.
10. .
This process represented to through chemical
reaction as N2 (g) +3H2(g)⇋ 2NH3(g) + heat
It is a reversible reaction
