Group Project Review

My group members are Andrea, Nohemi, and Adisa. This was the best team I could
have everhad the pleasure working with since I have been in college. The communication
between us consisted of email, text, and in meetings. I ensured that the team kept
communicating with each other whether it was updates on coding sheets or just making
sure the team understood the coding process.
Our team conducted a content analysis on the Fox News Democratic Primary
Coverage. I organized the team to have four coders, scheduled what days and times to
code, created the PowerPoint for the presentation, conducted the inter coder reliability test,
scheduled the meetings for group advisement, created the format for the coding sheets then
turned them into PDF files, and I conducted the coder training. During our meetings, we all
looked over all information and everyone left with their inputs respected. I made sure
everyone agreed on and was happy with the project’s process. If anyone had questions, we
all made sure to answer them in a timely fashion. We created the code sheet questions with
equal agreement on the questions. Andrea and I coded after the following primaries:
February 9, March 8, and March 15 while alternating times to code. Nohemi and Adisa
coded after the following primaries: March 1 and March 8 while alternating times to code.

For our inter coder reliability, we originally did not have enough programs to compare
among the coders because we all did not watch the same clips. To fix this problem, we met
on April 8 at 9 a.m. and we all coded the same five clips at the same time. Andrea
volunteered to write the introduction section, Nohemi volunteered to write the methods and
results section, Adisa volunteered to write the conclusion, and I volunteered to put the
graphs in the appropriate spots if needed. We all worked equally on this project. It may
seemI did most of the work, but I assure you without their input in the project and all of
the amazing communication between all of us, this project would not have been so
organized. Andrea is a freshman and I was amazed at her awesome attitude, the rest of us
our juniors. I am honored to have had all three as my teammates. I know this is more than
you wanted but I felt they deservedto be bragged about.
