2. These lines have been taken from the poem “The Rain” written by
William Henry Davis.
The poem is a musical display of rain a great phenomenon of
nature. It has a symbolic meaning also. The leaves on the upper
level get the rain drops first and quench their thirst. Afterwards
they pass on the drops to the leaves at the level beneath.
These lines may offer a metaphor as well; the rich at the upper
level get a golden chance first and whatever remains trickles
down to the people at the level beneath. However the scene of
the sunshine's afterwards is lovely and a source of pleasure to
everyone of us.
3. The poet says that he hears the leaves which are full
of rain. He says that the rich leaves on top are full of
water. The sparkling of water which falls drop by
drop on the leaves below creates a music which is
sweet to hear.
It mains down through drop after drop on trees on
every where it has a sweet and polite noise to hear as
it shows the musical display and the green leaves vely
thirsty quench charming water.
4. This stanza is the last stanza of the poem “The Rain” in
these stanza poet depicts an ideal picture of a sunrise
after the rain. He hopes that the sunlight after the rain will
bring forth a lovely sight. He says that when the rain shall
stop the sparkling light of the sun will brighten up the sky.
A wondrous light will full each dark and space. The round
drops of rain will spark with the wondrous sunlight. In the
end the poet wishes that the sun shines in full brighten
and makes the scene lovely.
