Amna Shaikh presented on the boundaries and fauna of the Oriental region. The Oriental region includes the Indian subcontinent, Ceylon, Burma, Philippines, Formosa, and parts of China. It has a tropical climate in most areas with rainforests in the northeast and plains and rivers elsewhere, resulting in diverse vegetation and fauna. The region contains four sub-regions and is home to a variety of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, including carps, catfish, frogs, snakes, turtles, crocodiles, honey guides, woodpeckers, hornbills, peacocks, rabbits, shrews, gorillas and rhinoceros
3. ORIENTAL REGION BOUNDARIES:
This region includes the Indian subcontinent Ceylon Burma, Philippines. Formosa and
Scathe China, form the north of this region where the Himalayas are present. The Arabian
Sea is present on the west side. There is no physical boundary in the southeast corner.
4. ORIENTAL REGION CLIMATE
Oriental Region has tropical and temperate regions. In the northeast of Asia, rainforest is
present towards the western desert. The remaining part shows plains and rivers and
therefore this region shows different types of conditions, So there is more vegetation and
more Fauna seen.

The fauna of Oriental region shows resemblances that of Ethiopian region.
