• When I joined Optima (1/16) I discovered that:
• Cars lead the “Autonomous Things” sector in safety

• Cars lead the “Autonomous Things” sector in safety
• Car safety is defined in ISO-26262
• ISO-26262 is under rewrite to replace the 2011 version
• Anyone can join the rewrite if they are appointed by their country
• In Israel, SII (Machon Hatkanim) is responsible to appoint representatives

• 4 Rep’s in Mountain View, 6/16
• 2 Rep’s in Jeju, 2/17
• SII funded ~50% of participants
• Hosting a F2F in Nazareth 11/17

15. So, What About You?
• Optima benefited a lot from the participation:
• Influence on the evolving standard
• Networking
• Recognition
• ISO-26262:2018 is almost done, BUT:
• PAS 21448 SOTIF (Safety of the intended Functionality) is only starting
• ISO has other standards
• There are other standard organizations
• Talk to SII!
