Thesis statement:
Integrating the LDS Environmental Stewardship and Conservation statements, the ASLA Code of Professional and Environmental Ethics,
and the Sustainable Sites Initiative 2.0 into the LDS temple landscape design guidelines can lead to a more sustainable Albuquerque,
New Mexico temple design and retrofit concepts and model for new LDS developments and landscape design and management guide-
lines.
Project Overview:
This critical analysis study and design takes the existing Albuquerque New Mexico LDS temple and attempts to reach a more sustain
able solution for the sites challenges. This study investigates the problem roots with all phases of design, construction and maintenance.
The proposed solutions are given as redesign as well as retrofit.

This critical design study addresses both the redesign of the project
as well as retrofitting the current state of the site for a more sustain-
able landscape solution(number 1 refers to redesign and number 2
refers to retrofit.

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." Thomas Jefferson
During the dark age of Holocaust, people of good conscious risked their own life to rescue victims.
Perhaps one thing that separate rescuers from bystanders was the fact that they did not stay silence and acted upon their feeling. The hope square
is designed with the concept of elevate and reconnect.
Sculptural metal trees stand in unity at the core of the design. The trees represent the saviors (one for every thousand brave individuals). Anchored
to the ground, the trees rise up from dark waters, offering support to the platform (safety) above. The visitor starts the journey of remembrance in a
forest of oaks. As the visitor move up the ramp, they are greeted with light and the powerful canopy of sculptural trees. An outlook in the center of the
raised platform positions the viewer in front of the carved out space of the museum. From this point the visitor visually connects with history, and may
honor and contemplate hope and bravery in one of the darkest times of history.

The concept of Sponge is born out of the
regional characteristic of the New Orleans
landscape formed by the Mississippi river,
and also relates to the specific site.
People driving over the elevated freeway
I-90 and over the site may assume there
is a solid space beneath. However this
design changes the perception of space:
a void both literally and conceptually.
Formally, the sponge concept creates
filtered spaces that reflect a dynamic bal-
ance of both solid and void spaces.
Moss was chosen as the main flora for the
site, as it thrives in shady, moist environ-
ments. The moss also acts as a sponge,
absorbing traffic noise and pollution. Moss
covered Bio-Baffles are designed to effi-
ciently absorb the noise in multiple spacial
directions while providing a soft , green
ceiling to soften the concrete infrastructure
of I-90.
The MOSSissipi park is a destination for
tourism and locals as well as a habitat for
birds and beneficial insect of the region.
MOSSissipi park will host musical, art and
dance festivals. it provides amenities such
as rest room, a coffee shop, market place ,
skate park and a rock climbing wall.

One Million Bones
Primary Artists who produced and
installed one million bones in various
locations in the world bringing home
their successful design element: one
million bones.
This project investigated an appropriate
site and design for the bones to retire.
Albuquerque Nuclear Museum was
selected with concept of the funnel
cloud and flames. The existing
museum had not anything to do with
human and cultural aspect of the
nuclear as this
would extend the museum concept
and philosophy and the outcome of
education of public of the nuclear
weapon production and unsafe
consequences.
