OUR STORY
Raffaele Gambardella grew up in what Italians call la città del
sole - the city of the sun: Napoli. Having the Bay of Naples in
his backyard, the sea was an integral part of his life, from the
food it provided, to the recreation it offered, to the
imagination it inspired. Although he spent a lot of time on
the water, through beach days and vacation boat rentals or on
the boats of friends, owning his own remained a dream.
Fast forward to the 1980s - Raffaele is living in NewY
ork city,
going to college while working in restaurants in order to pay
tuition. Eventually, he married his American bride, left the
hospitality industry, and raised a family on Long Island - he
couldn’t be far from the sea, after all.Allthe while, though, he
never stopped dreaming of the water.
Finally, in 2016Raffaele purchased his first boat, a twenty-seven foot Cobalt R7. Since
then, along with his wife and three daughters, Raffaele has taken to the seas. Boating
has become integral to the Gambardella family, who have spent the past six summers
boating around Long Island and New England. From their homebase on Long Island’s
beautiful North Fork, the Gambardella family has found a way to make their sea-
inspired dreams come true. Cont....
Always looking for ways to represent Italyhere in the USA,
when he finally became a boat owner Raffaele went
searching for high quality, Italian crafted boat accessories
that would stand up to the salt, wind and waves without
sacrificing style. Asluck would have it, he found precisely
what he was looking for in the place where our story
begins: Napoli. In 2021, Raffaele met Salvatore Palumbo,
who has been making - to great acclaim - a wide variety of
nautical accessories and decor that met his exacting
standards of durability, function, and beauty.
Today, with Amalfi Outfitters, Raffaele and his family aim
to bring these impressive examples of Italian design to you.
