The document discusses several programs and events happening at the Black Mountain Middle School ASES program in November. This includes focusing on the character trait of responsibility this month, students representing the school at an upcoming science fair after visiting Broadcom, progress on duct tape fashion outfits with a "Monsters Inc." theme, and upcoming preparation for a January basketball tournament. It also provides reminders about attendance and hours of operation for the before and after school programs.

1. Character
Counts!
A culture of kindness has started here
at Black Mountain Middle School.
ASES is supporting this movement
100% of the way. The goal of this is to
build character within students in a way
in which they get into the habit of
displaying kindness all over campus.
This month we are focusing on the
characteristic of responsibility. During
homework hour when students do not
have homework they are provided with
activities which engage them in
thinking about the characteristic of the
month. Be sure to check out the board
outside of the ASES office. This board
displays outstanding pieces done by
students, quote of the week, and tips for
parents to help encourage this culture of
kindness.

Fair
This year representing us at the Greater San
Diego Science Fair we have
Molika Singh, Jordan Bunch,
Uma Sinha, and
Kaitlyn Heard. This month
these girls kicked off the
science fair season by visiting Broadcom in
Rancho Bernardo. The students heard a great
presentation by employees at Broadcom.
They also saw awesome demonstrations of
robots and ultra-high definition television.
These students have already been working
hard to put these projects together and we
can’t wait to see how they do in March.
Duct Tape Fashion
Duct tape fashion has now started up in
full swing. A theme has been decided and
this year BMMS ASES will be working
towards Monsters Inc. attire. Sketches
have already been in
progress but there is still
time to join in on the
creativity and fun.

Basketball Tournament
Next month we will be starting to
prepare for our basketball
tournament which will be taking
place January 9th
at Meadowbrook
Middle School. Students will be
committed to practicing during
second hour twice a week. This is a
great experience for students to
build teamwork, leadership, and
responsibility.
