alumni at leading firms across the UK and the world. This network (and
related SEO networks in the USA, Ghana, Nigeria, Vietnam and China),
will be both a source of support for participating students, and a
destination for their talents and mentorship as they rise professionally.

Female Leadership Programme for University Students

Founded in 2017 the programme aims to
increase the pool of confident women
entering the financial services industry. This
aim is in line with long-term industry targets
as a result of HM Treasury’s Women in
Finance Charter.
The leadership programme adopts a holistic
approach to guide HerCapital Associates to:
• develop within their own environment
• gain authentic exposure to the financial
services industry
• practise and refine their leadership skills
• challenge and adopt a growth mindset

88% of the 2018 cohort increased in their

For the 2020 cycle the HerCapital Programme is made up of:
• 51 first year (or second year of a 4-year degree) HerCapital
Associates (all are 2022 graduates)
• 19 UK universities represented and largest degree disciplines
include 35% Social Sciences & 32% STEM.
• 58% social mobility qualifying
• 6-month leadership programme taking place from Jan – Jun 2020
• interactive challenges, networking opportunities with firms and
soft skills & technical training aimed to develop the Associates
personally & professionally
Given the success of SEO London’s HerCapital programme to date, the aim for 2020
continues to be to ensure we are working with junior female talent to increase the number of
confident female leaders entering the professional working world.

This program through the workshops, inspirational mentors and my own determination to
fully engage in the programme has inspired me to push myself out of my comfort zone and
accelerated my trajectory launching my career.
I decided to join the HerCapital programme because there is nothing else like it available to
female undergraduates for finding a supportive network of like minded females creating a
safe space to grow and develop. Through this programme I developed my soft skills,
extended my network and learnt about the fundamentals of becoming a female leader of
tomorrow. Following the programme I went on to complete three internships.
HerCapital is challenging, and often you are required to step out of your
comfort zone, but the results achieved from the programme are amazing.
During one of the first professional workshops I was introduced to the firm
Helios investment partners and through the programme I was able to secure an
internship at the best private equity firm in Africa.
I have absolutely no regrets applying for it. This programme was the perfect way to
kickstart my University journey and has helped equip me with the vital skills and
knowledgeto pursue a career.

Helps provide talented secondary school students with a range of support services to improve their
academic attainment, progression to university and elite careers.
Students:
• 50 per cohort
• Year 11-13
• Social mobility qualifying and above average academics
Duration and Content:
• Three-year programme
• Launched in Sep 2017
• Students rotate across a range of industries for insight days and work experience
• Mandatory curriculum of academic, personal and professional support
Outcomes:
• Raised academic and professional aspirations
• Informed decisions about future academic and career choices
• Improved work readiness
• Increased willingness to contribute to and take a leading role in the community

• The SEO Connect Jobs Board seeks to supplement
employers’ existing experienced hire recruitment efforts in
a cost-efficient way that permits maximum access to our
diverse alumni and supporter network.
▪ Sponsor firms may view the Jobs Board as an
‘insurance policy’ to ensure that diversity and
inclusion is embedded in their experienced hire
recruitment strategy.
▪ We have priced the Jobs Board at a very appealing
annual cost:
• £2,500 + VAT for a ‘simple screen’
• Unlimited listings / 12 months
• Up to 5 live postings at any given, moment.
• SEO London is able to offer this solution at this attractive
cost because as a charity we are equally concerned with
