Purpose
•To develop comprehensive sexuality curriculum
for youths in Newark, NJ in order to promote
healthy and positive outlooks on sex and
sexuality
Significance
•12 million people contract an STI every year
•People between the ages of 15 and 24 contract
nearly half of all new STIs
•STIs can cause health problems
Evaluation
•The curriculum will be available for
implementation in September 2015
•Provide a minimum of three learning games,
three activities, and ten discussion questions in
each subsection of the eight sexual health topics
Recommendations
•Implementation of the new sex positive
curriculum in all Masakhane workshops
•Perpetuation of non-hetero-normative, non-
gender binary, sex positive education
