Learn how Earth-2’s digital twin platform uses Modulus and the
Omniverse virtual environment to accelerate technologies that
mitigate climate change and its impact. Climate change mitigation is
about reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The worldwide goal
is to reach net zero. This entails reducing emissions by using low-
carbon technologies and energy efficiency, as well as deploying
negative emission technologies such as carbon storage. Using
NVIDIA’s Earth-2 platform, we build climate change mitigation,
monitoring, and adaptation digital twins. Our unique framework
connects data-driven weather and climate models and deep earth
models to thousands of downstream applications, all based on GPU
acceleration, AI, and networking to achieve unprecedented increases
in speed, resolution, and interactivity. For instance, AI models such as
Fourier neural operators have achieved 4-5 magnitude speedups over
existing methods.
