2. General Reminder
All clothing worn while working in the library should be neat,
clean, and in good taste. This is a professional environment
and therefore there is a standard of dress.
3. No OffensiveT-Shirts
This includes, but is not limited to,
shirts that have:
• Inappropriate language
• Inappropriate images
If an Access Services staff or Dean feels
an item of clothing you are wearing is
inappropriate, you will be asked to
clock out to go home and change.
4. NoVisible Undergarments
• Please wear appropriate undergarments but keep them out of
sight.
• If undergarments can be seen you will be asked to clock out to go
home and change, this includes visible bra straps as well as
boxers and underwear.
5. No jeans with rips or tears through to skin
• We do not allow jeans that are
ripped or torn with skin visible
underneath. If the rips are
patched that is fine. Colored
tights under jeans is also fine.
Ask long as skin is not visible.
6. No Spaghetti Straps,
Mid-Drift tops, or Low Necklines
• Spaghetti strap tops , crop tops, and other tops that show the mid-
drift area are not permitted while at work.
• Necklines should not be low enough to expose undergarments or
body parts.
7. No Hats
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Baseball caps
• Beanies
• Cowboy hats
• Before you clock in, please
make sure you have removed
your hat.
8. Shorts and Skirts
• Shorts and skirts will be allowed as long as they are
appropriate length. As Cynorra likes to say, “Make
sure your behinds and your be-fronts are covered.”
9. No Cowboy Spurs
• No cowboys boots
with spurs
• Boots without spurs
are okay
10. What Can IWearWhile atWork?
• Jeans in good condition
• Appropriate t-shirts
• Polo shirts
• Dress tops
• Hoodies
14. Good Rule to Follow
If you have any doubt about an article of
clothing, don't wear it to work.Wear it on
a day you don't work and stop by and ask
Mrs. Petersen or another librarian.
