This Christmas, ReadyAnd is giving you the opportunity to do something different to kick off seasonal celebrations - learn some contemporary dance moves, create your own choreography and learning about your wellbeing - you can take all of it with you to the party later on or into the new year. This presentation provides more detail about how the dance sessions work. So, please have a read and if you're interested, in a session, a programme or having a conversation about how dance science can enhance your work life, please get in touch with Alexena Collins.
2. This year, why not kick off your team
Christmas party with something
that’s good for the body and mind
and gives everyone a creative
boost?
At one of ReadyAnd’s two-hour
Christmas sessions, you’ll move
around, find out how dance can
improve your own wellbeing and
create a piece of original
choreography with your
colleagues.
We combine dance and science
for a unique movement experience
that’s open to everyone. Our
experienced teaching team will
gently lead the class outside their
comfort zone and into a new
creative, collaborative experience:
a great conversation starter for
later in the pub and a different way
of looking at the world for the new
year ahead.

pub later

3. What
happens?
Some dance...
The class starts with a warm-up so
everyone is safe to move, followed by a
series of exercises to enjoy some simple
contemporary dance.We’ll move around
the floor, across the space, through the air,
accompanied by a mix of rhythmic,
acoustic and electronic music to fit the
moves and the mood. Finally, our teacher
will guide the group through creative
tasks to develop and dance their own
choreography.
Some science...
Each class includes one of our
physical or psychological wellbeing
assessments. Everyone will receive a
one-to-one with our dance scientist,
who will give the assessment,
provide personal, constructive
feedback on results and send them
on afterwards.

4. We know contemporary
dance is new to most people,
so we’ve developed some
options where the physical
and psychological benefits of
dance come together.
In every class you’ll learn
some simple contemporary
dance moves and create a
piece of choreography,
focusing on a theme of your
choice: Alignment; Strength
or Balance, whichever your
team will most enjoy.
The sessions are co-led by a
dance teacher and dance
scientist, who’ll create an
encouraging and supportive
atmosphere. Everyone will
have the chance to let off
steam, open up their minds
and take something positive
from the studio back to work.
Or the pub, of course.
