Reference letter for Miss Alexandra Moroti
Rome, 2013-08-05
I am very pleased to provide this reference letter for Miss Alexandra Moroti, born on
May 28, 1992 whose work I supervised during her internship at the Department of
Psychology of the Sapienza University from 10/06/2013 to 05/08/2013. Already
from the first day arriving she was involved in a broad range of tasks focusing on
music cognition and on issues related to eye movement. Her work concerned both
behavioural techniques and eye-tracking techniques. During the whole period she
showed great enthusiasm, earnestness and a very strong interest in research. These
traits allowed her to quickly adapt to our requirements.
Miss Moroti participated in every steps necessary to the realization of a behavioural
experiment. By summarizing, her principle tasks were:
- Bibliographic research and outline of the papers;
- Participation in planning the experimental design;
- Setting the Eye-tracker device;
- Composition of the sample and administration of the experiment;
- Collecting and organizing the data.
The promising data that we obtained lead us to carry on our collaboration with Miss
Moroti until the finalization of this research.

Miss Moroti showed a good knowledge of laboratory techniques and a sound
theoretic background already from her arrive, and improved her skills during this
internship. In particular, she learnt to use eye-tracker technologies (SMI eye-tracking
device) and to manage the different softwares involved (“Experiment centre”,
“iView”, “BeGaze”). She also improved her ability to understand and speak Italian in
order to compose the experimental sample. During the different steps of her work,
she demonstrated profound skills using several computer programs (i.e., Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Mendeley Desktop, Audacity)
Miss Moroti showed to be very suitable for teamwork, since her responsibility in
performing the tasks entrusted to her and her collaborative nature, as well as for her
quick thinking and observation capacity. It was a pleasure to work with her.
Your Sincerely,
Prof. Antonino Raffone, Ph.D.
