2. INTRODUCTION
Alex Worp
Strategic Advisor BIM at Asset Management Schiphol.
For 5 years working on implementing Building Information Management.
Vice Chairman of the board of buildingSMART Benelux since June 2017.
Started the user group ‘Airport Room’ in 2016 as part of BuildingSMART int.
More successful asset management is only possible through
collaboration with all stakeholders throughout the entire lifecycle. by
exchanging structured open data that can be validated and verified.
10. THE OPPORTUNITY
First Information structure has to improve
collect data
organize
information
summarize
knowledge
analyze
insight decision

wisdom

11. THE OPPORTUNITY
With an improved Information structure
wisdomWith wisdom
we can make better decisions,
and optimize the performance
of our assets.
19. OUR VISION: FROM.…
complex redundant time consuming error-sensitive
Being a dominant party that opens up their own systems to
partners, suppliers and for consumptions. A closed collaboration…
20. TO…
shared data more knowledge
improved efficiency
predictable maintenance
cost reduction
A collaborative digital system where multiple parties work together and
share there information with common standards, processes and roles.
21. Conclusions
• OpenBIM – IFC, BCF Exchange WORKS!
• Clear agreements are very important (BIM protocol, BIM Execution plan)
• Working together true all phases of the asset life cycle is essential
• Quality of Employers Information Requirements is essential!
• Being Compliant to Employers Information Requirements by engineers and
construction companies is essential; “almost good = fatal”
• Validation techniques on the delivered information in BIM, by engineers and
construction companies (Employer’s Information Requirements)
22. WILL YOU JOIN US?
The succes of BIM is based on the
managed exchange of structured
information throughout an asset’s
lifecycle.
Coming together is a beginning
Keeping together is progress;
Working together is SUCCESS
Henry Ford
BIM for Amsterdam Airport Schiphol;
‘A process, including digital systems,
where multiple parties collaborate
unambiguous and share relevant
information based on open standards,
workflows and roles.’
Schiphol realizes that BIM and Geo Information must be
combined and brought into relation to really add value.
They have taken the first steps, but continue to look for
cooperation, to ultimately make the best choices for
connecting GEO|Design+BIM.
23. BIM Digitization of Asset Management
BIM = Digitization/computerization of Asset management with (large scale)
exchange of information throughout the life cycle to optimize processes and
decisions making
Virtualization: Creating a digital copy of a physical object or process,
supplementing or replacing processes and simulation. From BIM to '
Digital Twin '
Internet of Things: the direct interaction between virtual and
physical reality.
24. Conclusions
Clear agreements (EIR, BIM protocol, BIM Execution plan)
Validation techniques on the delivered information in BIM, by engineers and
construction companies (Employer’s Information Requirements)
Work together through all the phases of the asset life cycle
