Letter From Senior Manage
1. Letter from senior manager at the Post Office. This is available for any post office that cares
to apply. Please pass the details on to your local postmaster.
Hi Alan
Many thanks again for today.
As discussed earlier, today's venture (i.e. introducing a laptop and WI-FI
service into a standard Post Office) was funded by the Welsh Assembly
Government as part of its Post Office Diversification Fund.
Indeed, the new Fund became operational on 1 January 2009 and is open to
every post office in Wales. It is worth £4.5 million (to run between 2009
and 2012) and is available for revenue expenditure (e.g. business and
marketing advice, advertising, training and some set-up costs for new
services) and also capital expenditure (e.g.improvements such as creating
better access to buildings, upgrading computer equipment, improving
security or providing better signs for the outside of premises).
Under the new Fund sub-post masters and mistresses will be able to apply
for both capital and revenue funding which can be used to improve the non
post office side of their businesses to increase overall sustainability.
Capital grants will be available at two levels; up to £5,000 for small
capital improvements; and up to £20,000 for larger scale work. Revenue
grants of up to £15,000 will also be available.
Further information on the new Fund along with the terms and conditions
can be found via the link below and I have also attached copies of the
application form and guidance notes:

You're more than welcome to forward this to your local subpostmaster and
if you need further information, please let me know.
Cofion / Kind Regards
Heulyn
