SUMMARY
I am a seasoned advancement professional with significant development, capital campaign and major gifts
experience. My fund raising career spans more than 30 years,as either a staff member or as a consultant.
This work has been transformational and includes the management of capital campaigns for Bellarmine
Preparatory School (STAFF: Yrs. 2013-2017, achieving stretch goal of $8.5M and building a new campus
center); Tacoma Community College (STAFF: Yrs. 2004-2006, exceeded our $7M capital goal by $3M);
and, at Pacific Lutheran University (STAFF: Yrs. 1982-1990, surpassing $50 million capital goal).
Other notable successes included campaign consulting on behalf of a diverse group of community
colleges located throughout the U.S (Yrs. 2006 – 2010). Alltogether, I have served and provided
leadership to many wonderful organizations, members of ‘their’ staff, board and other key volunteers,
raise more than $100 million in philanthropic support for ‘their’ priority projects.

Key Results: In my role as Campaign Manager,I was primarily responsible for the implementation and
management of the capital campaign effort to build a new campus center,which we accomplished on time
and under budget. As a member of the Advancement Team,I was responsible for matching major donor
interest and their capacity to support strategic needs of the school, including recognition and stewardship.
Exceeded ‘stretch goal’ of $8.5M – three million more than any previous campaign in less time;
Broad-based efforts – nearly 450 campaign donors, half of these were first time capital donors;
Extraordinarily cost effective – fund raising costs were less than five cents to raise a dollar;
Provided high-level support - to President, VP forAdvancement, Board and key volunteers.

Key Results: As a consultant, I conducted feasibility studies, major gift campaigns and tailored board
development programs for community colleges in WA,OR, CO, SD, AR, MO, MI, MS, GA and FL.
Met or exceeded ALL financial campaign goals – in the range of $5 million to $32 million;
Raised awareness among constituents - of college mission, vision and project needs;
Broadened the base for support - and strengthened the annual gift effort,after campaign;

Key Results: As a staff member, I coordinated fundraising for the college, including special events and
sponsorships, while also orchestrating their first comprehensive major gifts campaign. We exceeded our
campaign goal of $7 million by nearly $3M, for a total of $10M. The campaign concluded October 2006.
Generated significant private sector funding - in support of 9 priority campaign initiatives;
Greatly enhanced employee and board participation - in percentage of giving and total dollars;
Received a ONE MILLION DOLLAR GIFT - the largest such gift in the college’shistory;
Cultivated new donor relationships - resulting in future gifts, including one for$3 million.

Key Results: The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) is one of the largest and most effective
immigration law projects in the country, committed to defending and advancing the rights and dignity of
immigrants and refugees through education, advocacy and legal services for persons of low income.
As a staff member, I was responsible for implementing a comprehensive fundraising program in
support of mission – annual giving, special events, board development, major gifts and grants;
Enlisted pro-bono attorneys – for Statewide Campaign for Equal Access: Bringing Justice Home;
Created special recognition event and annual gifts club – where we presented Golden Door Award;
Raised $2 million annually, included grant funding from federal and state sources such as VAWA and
DSHS, United Way, churches, in-kind (pro bono legal services) along with individual gift support.

Key Results: As a staff member, I coordinated major gift activities among colleagues for a capital campaign.
