Empowering Early Childhood Leaders to Drive Instructional ChangeTeachstone
Early childhood leaders (center directors, principals, executive directors) have been systematically ignored in the quality improvement efforts that have occurred at the local, state, and national level. Professional learning has been provided to teachers and coaches, but little is available for school leaders. Strong early childhood leadership, grounded in an understanding of the drivers of quality evidenced-based teaching strategies are essential to improving instructional quality. The research around teacher-child interactions as documented in studies improving the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) lies at the foundation of quality. This presentation will provide an overview of the CLASS framework for early childhood leaders and discuss strategies that can be used to improve instruction within their schools.
Purchase Energy Star certified appliances which can save hundreds of dollars over the life of the appliance. Properly maintain appliances by cleaning or replacing filters regularly and maintaining the unit to ensure it works efficiently using the least amount of energy. Also select the correctly sized appliance for your needs and use the maximum capacity to reduce the frequency of use and save energy.

The document summarizes a technology-business networking event focused on habitat, construction, architecture and ceramics. It describes an EU-funded project called TELL ME that aims to develop a methodology and IT platforms for continuous education and training of manufacturing workers. It highlights three pilot programs, including one focused on furniture manufacturing. The furniture pilot aims to address skills and training needs for furniture workers, especially those producing ship furniture. It identifies risks for the pilot programs, such as workers' apprehension about new technologies, and describes actions to prevent risks like preparing workers to view the technologies positively.
Lessons Learned in a Continuously Developing Service-Oriented Architecturemdwheele
The goal of this presentation is to highlight the successes in applying modern development practices that tend to be regarded as “too much overhead” for small development teams. I was one of those nay-sayers. This presentation is a journey in moving an overburdened development team into a more efficient environment where regular progress is made and realistic expectations in timelines become possible. I plan to cover topics such as agile project management, application design strategies, version control, unit testing, and all the reasons why these globally common practices are well worth buy-in at a developer and managerial level. Given time constraint on presentation length, the depth of technical discussion will be relatively shallow. As I progress through the talk, I plan to use a recent development project for illustrative purposes. By not diving too deep, the discussion can instead focus more on proving that these processes do have real return on investment for developers and project managers alike.
The document summarizes the 2006 video game Bully. It discusses that the game follows a teenage rebel named Jimmy Hopkins who attends the fictional Bullworth Academy. As a student, Jimmy can interact with other students and teachers at the school and in the neighboring town. While the game includes some violent elements like a crime system, the makers deny it encourages violence and say it is meant to be an amusing look at school life and teach players how to stand up to bullies. However, some critics argue the game could influence young people's perceptions of violence and cause them to respond violently to bullies.
