Confederation of Indian Industry
(CII) of Indian companies in
America turned out to be an
occasion to shore up political
support for continuing economic
engagement between the two
countries in a political climate of
protectionism, on Tuesday, at the
Capitol.The study “Indian Roots,
American Soil,” found that 100
Indian companies have created
1,13,423 jobs in the U.S with an

Honouring Bengaluru's young bravehearts
As the audience cheered, six
boys and girls took the stage on
Children’s Day by receiving the
Hoysala and Keladi
Chennamma Bravery Awards.
They were feted for saving lives.
The seventh award was
accorded posthumously to
Nethravathi Chouhana, who
died while saving her cousin
who was drowning. Another 35
children received the
Exceptional Achievement Award
achievements in different fields.
In addition, four organisations
and four individuals who were
working tirelessly for child
welfare were felicitated by the
State government on Tuesday.
These students will be given a
purse of ₹10,000 in addition to a
memento, citation and a medal.
