Banding stations play an integral role in avian ecology and conservation by collecting data on bird populations, communities, and individuals. This study analyzed data from the Highland Retreat banding station in Virginia from 2005-2015, focusing on the northern saw-whet owl. Banding stations provide valuable long-term data on bird populations and help educate the public and train students in field research techniques.
