• Android and iPhones are currently the most popular smartphone
platforms in today’s world
• Both iPhones running iOS and smartphones running Android have
their pros and cons
• Choosing between the two main players in mobile depends on what
features and specs are most important to you
• We will shortly highlight key differences between the two platforms
in this presentation

iPhone
• The iPhone was the first phone unveiled by Steve Jobs, Apple CEO,
in January 2007 at the MacWorld convention
• On June 29th 2007, iPhone was released but with 8GB of internal
storage.
• Apple claims they spent 3 years in its development
• The iPhone had cutting edge technology at its time
• July 11th, 2008, iPhone 3G was released with assisted GPS and 3G
connection
• Later models included iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 5SE and the list
continues till the latest addition, the X series.

• In July 0f 2005, Google bought Android which initially developed
Android OS
• Released in September 2008, HTC Dream was the first
commercially released device to use the Linux-based Android
operating system
• Android has been available as an open-source software since
October 2008
• HTC Hero debuted on October 2009, was the first CDMA Android
phone with android version 1.5

• With Apple, you can simply take your device to your closest Apple
Store where a trained specialist can help solve your problem
• Some android manufacturers are slow at updating their devices to
latest Android version while some don’t
• Apple's support for older phones is generally better than Android's
• iOS 11 was installed on about 66% of compatible models within 6
weeks of its release
