PORSCHE EMPLOYEES BANNED FROM SOCIAL NETWORKING <ul><li>Luxury car manufacturer Porsch banned employees from using internet sites such as Facebook, Google Mail or Ebay during office hours, for fear of industrial spying. </li></ul><ul><li>Company feared information could be leaked via social networking site Facebook. </li></ul><ul><li>Foreign intelligence agencies used Facebook to contact company insiders & win their trust to obtain information. </li></ul><ul><li>Quarter of Porsche's 13,000 global employees use Facebook & other social networking sites. </li></ul>

STRIKE ENDS AT ARCELORMITTAL'S PLANT <ul><li>Workers at steelmaker ArcelorMittal's Algeria plant resumed work after a strike over pay on Thursday.  </li></ul><ul><li>ArcelorMittal employs 7,200 people at the plant in town of Annaba in eastern Algeria. </li></ul><ul><li>The strike is the third at the plant this year & follows action in January & June. </li></ul><ul><li>The complex produced about 750,000 tonnes of flat & long steel products in 2009 most of it destined for Algeria's domestic market. </li></ul>

GOOGLE TESTING CARS THAT DRIVES BY ITSELF <ul><li>Using artificial-intelligence, Internet giant Google is secretly developing a car that can drive itself. </li></ul><ul><li>Seven test cars of Google have driven 1,000 miles without human intervention & more than 140,000 miles with only occasional human control. </li></ul><ul><li>It uses artificial-intelligence software that senses anything near car & mimic decisions made by a human driver. </li></ul><ul><li>Device atop the car produced a detailed map of environment used to navigate safely. </li></ul>

INDIA TO DEVELOP ITS OWN COMPUTER OS <ul><li>India to develop its own futuristic computer OS to thwart attempts of cyber attacks & data theft as complete architecture & source code with us, nobody else knows. </li></ul><ul><li>Supearheaded by DRDO in partnership with software companies in & around Bangalore, Hyderabad & Delhi as also academic institutions like IIS Bangalore & IIT Chennai. </li></ul><ul><li>India currently uses operating systems developed by western countries. </li></ul>
