4. What is CLOUD (Computing)?
Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of compute power, database storage,
applications, and other IT resources through a cloud services platform via the internet
with pay-as-you-go pricing.
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—servers, storage, databases,
networking, software, analytics, and more—over the Internet (“the cloud”). Companies
offering these computing services are called cloud providers and typically charge for cloud
computing services based on usage, similar to how you’re billed for water or electricity at
home.
In cloud computing, the capital investment in building and maintaining data centers is
replaced by consuming IT resources as an elastic, utility-like service from a cloud
“provider” (including storage, computing, networking, data processing and analytics,
application development, machine learning, and even fully managed services).
