1. Shooting is not a team sport, it is a single sport.
Shooting is an Olympic sport that is split up in to 3
disciplines:
Pistol shooting, Rifle shooting and Shot Gun
shooting. In a Shot Gun event you have to shoot at
2 clay moving targets. In a Rifle and Pistol event
you have to shoot at a 10 ring stationery target.
The Olympic venue for London 2012 is the Royal
Artillery Barracks.
HISTORY OF SHOOTING:
Shooting has been in the Olympics since the first
modern games in 1896. Then the women’s events
were added in Los Angeles 1984.
In London 2012 400 people were competing for
gold, so that makes 223 men and 143 women.
The reason why the Shot Gun shoots at clay targets
is because the Shot Gun bullets are faster than the
Pistol and Rifle’s.
