2. Drake didn’t start out making music, his professional Debut debut was on TV on a program called
Degrassi: The Next Generation, he was age 15 when he started his professional debut. Drake
released his first mixtape in the year of 2006, this was his first music project that Drake released,
Drake eventually released another mixtape called so far gone, which featured many artists such as
Omarion, Lil Wayne and Trey Songz. The album was very successful, and helped Drake become
more known within the music industry.
On June 29, 2009, it was confirmed, that Drake signed a record deal with Young Money
Entertainment. In 2010 Drake released his first official album called Thank Me Later, the album sold
447,000 copies and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Since then Drake has released multiple
albums and music projects that have all done really well, he is now one of the most successful rappers
in the industry at the moment.
In 2012, Drake along with friend and producer started their own record label called OVO sound, since
then there have been OVO clothing lines, multiple artists have been signed to OVO. Every year drake
hold a concert in Canada called OVO fest.

In 2012, Drake along with friend and producer started their own record label called OVO sound,this
was the result of a deal being signed with Warner Bros Records. The label is based in Canada
Toronto, and has signed a couple local artists, in total Drake has signed 40 artists, which he also does
frequent collaborations with.
As well as this, Drake also has A radio station called OVO sound, which will primarily promote artists
of the label as well as playing a lot of Drake’s music.
Drake also does a yearly concert called OVO fest which is always hosted in Toronto, Canada. OVo is
well known for having many famous and successful artists making an appearance some time during
the festival. The first annual OVO Fest on August 2, 2010 included Rick Ross, Bun B, Young Jeezy,
Fabolous, Kardinal Offishall, Eminem, and Jay-Z. The second annual OVO fest in 2011 featured
guests included The Weeknd, Rick Ross, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Nas, and Stevie Wonder. The third
annual OVO Fest was on August 5, 2012 which included Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd, ASAP
Rocky, French Montana, Waka Flocka Flame, Rick Ross, and Snoop Dogg. The fourth annual OVO
Fest was held at the Molson, which was a changed from its usual place of Toronto.

Over the years Drake has become more interested in fashion, so he decided to have his own clothing
brand Called OVO clothing. OVO clothing ranges from clothing items such as socks, underwear,
jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts , shirts and jackets. Drakes clothing brand is recognised as a premium
clothing brand, this is reflected in price as a lot of items are priced at $162.
Even though the clothes within OVO clothing are very expensive, the are still frequently bought as
most of the sizes of clothing are constantly out of stock. Drake does not have any retail shops to buy
the clothes, but the there is a OVO website where there is a section where you can buy all of the items
of clothing
5. Drake’s Fans
Drake has become one of the most popular and most successful artists in the music industry at this
current time, as a result of this he amassed a massive number of very loyal fans. Drake has no
specific name for his fans like some other artists do. The majority of Drake's fans are made of young
middle class, white females and males, he also appeals to a large number black young men and
women, but mainly white men and women. Drake attracts a lot of female fans. Drake is seen as
respectful towards women, this is likely one of the reason why he attracts so many female fans, Drake
also appeals to many social groups around the world.
Drake has some of the most loyal fans, some have gone are so loyal and obsessed with Drake, they
have tattooed his name on their forehead. The have also gone as far as trying to get another rapper
put in jail, who had previously called out drake on twitter.
6. Drake’s views
In a lot of drake's songs, drake talks about women and how he treats them well. this shows that
Drake is respectful with women , as well as the fact he has never had any physical confrontation
with them. He also talks a lot about how are equal to men, and are sometimes better than women.
As well as this, however Drake was not always like this, in his old song the way drake talked about
women seemed to be a bit negative and downgrading, like how other rappers talk about women.
Drake is all about equality for black people, he also talks a lot about being respectful to others
around you . One of Drake’s biggest views was that making a lot of money is the best thing to do,
but over time as he has made his millions this has changed, now he just talks about living your life
to the fullest and being the best you can be.
