Ascending GPS Telesonde
General Description
The KTMS series sensors from Komoline
Aerospace Limited are sensors equipped with
captive power and telemetry in the form of a radio
transmitter.
The 3000 series are the sondes, radiosondes and
drop-sondes, as they have been traditionally
called. The KTMS-3630 is a GPS radiosonde and
measures temperature, humidity and pressure in
addition to GPS related static and dynamic
parameters.
The telesondes are calibrated for all parametric
measurements made by them on a per-unit basis
in a special integrated telesonde parametric
calibration facility. The calibration coefficients are
stored internally and applied to all measurements
made by the telesonde of the respective
parameters.
All measurements including GPS data are
transmitted to ground every second. Faster and
slower reporting is possible.
The sonde is equipped with transmitters that can
be frequency-customized and is available with
receivers capable of tracking single or multiple
telesondes, deployed typically on balloons.
Reception of data is possible using very simple
and easy to operate receivers that can be
attached to a PC or laptop, or even operated in
autonomous recording mode for off-line
processing.
Data visualization software is available for both
real-time and offline use. The visualization
includes text as well as pictorial (i.e. time-series
or altitude series graph or plot). The receiver
software also generates spread-sheet or data
base file compatible with standard programs.
Customization is offered by the company for
volume buyers.
