Forensic science: How we solved the crime by: Camryn –Detective, Eric-Investigator, Evan-Forensics Scientist, Ayden-Lab Technician
The Crime Ms. Miller’s Chemistry Classroom was broken into and some chemicals and pens were missing. Ms. Miller’s original suspects:  Ashley and Sierra
Lab Report Evidence Tool mark identification  Gum analysis  Sticky pop residue  Chemical analysis Chemical inventory  Handwriting analysis  Napkin analysis  Video surveillance  Computer activity report  Police report  tire track report  Grid search of field for anything unusual when explosion went off
Evidence Processed in Lab Fabric test:  flame test  Hair analysis: used microscopes Fingerprint analysis: compared fingerprint patterns Soil analysis: compared soil at crime scene with that of other soil around county Presences of blood: used chemical spray where blood spatter found to see the amount of blood at scene Glass density: measured density of broken glass for reference to the shoe found with broken glass Shoeprint Blood drop Fingerprints: lifted prints from glove and water bottle Lip print: performed lip print matching
PH Locations O’Leary’s pH is 5.5  Samantha’s soil at her house is pH 7  Sally’s soil at her house is pH 4  George’s soil at his house is pH 9  Custodian’s soil at his house is pH 2  Ashley’s soil at her house is pH 7.5  Bob’s soil at his house is pH 4  Ms. Miller’s soil at her house is pH 5  Ms. Anderson’s soil at her house is pH 8

What we think happened Sally, Samantha, and George hid somewhere in the school - maybe in Ms. Miller's room after the custodian cleaned it or maybe in the bathroom. Then, after the custodian left, they broke into Ms. Miller's storage room with a crowbar. They stole the crowbar from the custodian's room. When they got into the storage room they took a bunch of chemicals because they wanted to make an explosive just for fun. While the girls were taking the chemicals, George was breaking into the principal's office to get into his computer and change his behavior and absence record. Somehow, he set off the alarm. When the girls heard the alarm, they quickly escaped through Ms. Miller's window. Samantha tore her shirt while they were escaping and they spilled some chemicals.
