Strength and weakness of ad analysis essay
I had to do an ad analysis describing what the ad is advertising. I choose to do the CoverGirl ad
with Queen Latifah advertising their waterproof, fadeproof, and ignore proof eye shadow and
mascara products. I had to use ethos, logos, and pathos to convince the viewers that CoverGirl
products are trustworthy.
My strength was the clear and well-developed thesis statement. The ad analysis essay
was more effective due to the rhetorical appeals I had to use to convince the viewers to buy
CoverGirl products. My introduction had great background information. The summary of the
CoverGirl ad was perfect; I describe every little detail that I saw in the ad with Queen Latifah
modeling. I avoid using new ideas in the conclusion paragraph.
However, I had some weakness in my ad analysis essay. I had problems with my MLA
format that include correct spacing’s between the pages number, extra space between
paragraph and sentences, and my works cited was missing few steps like italicize, space, and
page numbers. My grammar, spelling, and mechanics was that not perfect throughout the
essay. The use of language, vocabulary, and word choice was good but could have been better.
I did poor on appropriate examples on logical fallacy.
