The market size of Furniture in France decreased from EUR 9,7 billion in 2008
down to EUR 9,4 billion in 2009.

• The month of June is traditionally the weakest in terms of activity. In June 2010 sales increased (1.8%) after two years of
consecutive decline.
• In the first six months of 2010, the French furniture market registered a growth of 2.8%. Compared to 2008, the growth trend
remains negative with -2.5%.
• Only the January has set back compared to 2009, the balances have been severely affected by climatic conditions. The other
months have all been positive, with stronger growth in first quarter (3.4%) than in the second quarter (2.2%).
• Kitchen and bedding are two product families that showed the highest growth rates in the first half of 2010.
• The slight recovery of the housing market gives hope to maintain a slight growth of the furniture market in 2010.
• The months September, October, November and December become more and more important for the sector, and will therefore
be decisive.
