  1. 1. Paragraph Writing and Web MappingSome of you might still be looking for ways to improve your writing,whether a paragraph, or a whole essay. Below are some good tips thatshould help your writing to unfold more clearly and logically. Letsbegin with the paragraph. Consider the diagram below. It stands forthe five sentence paragraph.
  2. 2. The top line refers to the opening sentence. This is your Main Idea Sentence. Itshould be made clear at the beginning of your paragraph, and it should be restatedin some form in your concluding sentence. The green lines on the right refer toyour Supporting Detail Sentences, and the final pink line at the bottom refers toyour concluding sentence. See below:
  3. 3. Let’s write a paragraph on snacks. The opening sentence should expressthe main idea, and for our supporting detail sentences we can writeabout our three favourite snacks. In our conclusion, we return to ourmain idea.
