1. THE CURRENCY OF A STRONG BOLIVAR COMPETENCIAS COMUNICATIVAS July 03th, 2007 T he currency of a strong Bolivar (Bolivar Fuerte) that will circulate in Venezuela starting from January the 1st, 2008. three zeros will be eliminated from the denomination. This means that 1,000 Bs. as the Venezuelan currency is known, would be worth 1 Bs.F. "bolivar fuerte" will present a similar golden border to the currency of the European Union, the Eurus; as well as to Brazil currency, and of the currency of a thousand bolivars coined in the year 2006. There would be a period of transition of six months in which both, the old and the new currency would coexist The Central Bank of Venezuela indicated that the currency redenomina tion process will be accompanied by an informative and educational campaign that will contribute to get the public ready for this change and to easily assume it with confidence. After this period, currency exchange will continue as long as necessary, so that people could change old currency for new currency at financial institutions and also at BCV. Gastón Parra Luzardo explained, "Currency redenomination will not alter the relative value of incomes, expenses, goods or debts". If a person has saved 1,000,000 old bolivars, they would be worth 1,000 "bolivar fuerte" after the redenomination process. COMPETENCIAS COMUNICATIVAS July 03th, 2007 O n May 27th, the Venezuelan government refused to renew the license for public television station RCTV to continue broadcasting, sending troops to shut down the station and seize equipment to ensure the station did not continue broadcasting. Thousands of people have been protesting the closure of one of the few public channels within a country in which a majority of citizens do not have cable television. The current protests have been led by students from some of the major Venezuelan universities including Universidad Simón Bolívar, Universidad Central de Venezuela, Metroplitana and Universidad de Carabobo. Caracas Metropolitan Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets into the crowds. The protests have been going on the whole weekend and have continued through these days. The Chavez government has replaced RCTV with a new pro-government public channel TVes. Supporters of Chavez cheered in some parts of the country. 3. THE LAST ACADEMIC APTITUD TEST COMPETENCIAS COMUNICATIVAS July 03th, 2007 T he last Academic Aptitude test was hold on June 16, 2007. This event generated a lot comments between all members of the society. The Education’s secretary of the Carabobo State said: “I don’t know which mechanism will be to use by the State to get into university”, that is worrying, because our future as Venezuelan professionals is been threatening for politic inclinations. She also told that 19 and 20 marks students aren’t always the best professionals. Is a right to all students which to want entering to university. Being into a university is a privilege where each student and professor must dedicate greedy their time to study, research and grow up in all knowledge's areas Appealing to feelings’ people less studied the Government does believing that study into a university is a right, and this mustn’t be so; That is a privilege you’ll win when you pass legally the primary and high school which must be obligatory and free to permit to less resources students competing in equality of conditions with private teaching students. In any place of the world the University is free and open to every person who wants to enter, all we have to win it. Now, the Government wants to create universities in somewhere part of our nation, but it will carry out difficulty with the profile that our country needs to progress. By Andreina Zapata
