  • 1. Understanding the ChFEBC Designation By Tracy Wayne Mitchell
  • 2. Introduction  Tracy Wayne Mitchell, a federal employee benefits expert based out of Springfield, Missouri, has authored a new book entitled The Informed Fed – A Survival Guide to Federal Employee Benefits. Tracy Wayne Mitchell currently serves as president at Federal Employee Benefit Advisors.
  • 3. About the ChFEBC Exam  Financial experts who have passed the ChFEBC exam have gone through extensive training and education in order to specialize in the constantly evolving field of federal employee benefits consulting—in fact, in order to maintain the designation, consultants must remain fully informed on any and all modifications or additions that are made to the current plans.
  • 4. Conclusion  Individuals who possess the ChFEBC title are required to have a minimum of three years’ experience in the field of financial services, in addition to holding a Series 6, 7, 24, or 66 license, if not a comparable Registered Investment Advisor or Investment Advisor Representative designation. There are a number of additional certifications consultants are encouraged to have, including chartered financial consultant (ChFC) and certified financial planner (CFP) status.
