4. Manufacturing Process : Sulphur Black Liquid
Caustic soda (47.5%) solution, sulphur and water will be mixed in a reactor to make
sodium poly sulphide.
• During reaction water vapour & traces of hydrogen sulphide shall be generated.
Water vapour thus generated will be condensed & recycled back into the process
and the traces of hydrogen sulphide shall be scrubbed in scrubber.
• In another reactor; 2:4 Di Nitro Chloro Benzene, caustic solution and water will
be reacted to make sodium salt of Di nitro Phenolate.
• The Phenolate shall be converted into dyestuff by thionating with sodium poly
sulphide and passing air into reaction mass.
• The product shall be washed with water and filtered off into agitated nutsch filter.
Filtrate containing sodium thio sulphate and sodium chloride solution will be
collected for recovery and wet cake shall be taken for stabilization in stabilization
vessel with caustic soda lye, sodium hydrogen sulphide, sodium chloride and
dextrose mono hydrate.
Finally Liquid will be packed as Sulphur Black Liquid.
