Activity Background
Like with most organizations, i-Vista too used various
streams to recruit people. An inability to find the right-
minded people meant exploring innovative options that
would help us find and contact people who were
passionate about the World Wide Web.




Our target audience:
Professionals from across functions- Technology, Design,
Writing, Business Development, Account Management-
interested in a career with a company that’s always looking
at harnessing the power of the Internet for achieving
business goals.

The insight
The Target Audience we were looking needed to be qualified to begin with. In addition, we
wanted them to have some amount of familiarity with the Internet. Familiarity conventionally
means ability to articulate thoughts on the Internet and technology and in worst cases, simply
using the Internet for search and emails alone. But then, we noticed that those that are Internet
friendly use it for objectives that are beyond the conventional norms. They in fact look at Internet
presence as an extension of their offline existence.


It was this group of people that we were aiming for. The insight was that these people network
extensively on many networking sites (professional and personal). Being always or
predominantly online, with a huge network of friends, they also are very exploratory with
applications and experimental with their status messages. It was this user behaviour that turned
out to be the key insight.

Creative Idea and Execution:
We began our innovative recruitment drive by urging our existing employees to post our talent
requirement using their Twitter accounts. In addition, they were asked to post the job
requirements on their Facebook, Google talk, Orkut and Linkedin status messages.



            “ Looking for kickass copywriters! ”
Example:



They were free to post the requirement basis the presence of such professionals in their network.
E.g., designers posted requirements for art directors and copywriters, technology people posted
requirements for someone from their field, and so on. Alongside all these was the ‘i-Vista's gift a
job!’ application on Facebook. This application was intended to spread the word about all the job
openings at i-Vista.

In addition to a huge number of application downloads, within a week we got over 50 enquiries
