• Sequence
• A sequence is a list of numbers in a certain order.
• Each number is called a term of the sequence.
1, 3, 5, 7, 9, … 2, 6, 10, 14, 18, … 1, 3, 9, 27, 81, … 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, …
• Arithmetic Sequence
• An arithmetic sequences is a sequence in which the difference between any two consecutive terms is the same.
3, 5, 7, 9, 11, … 12, 7, 2, -3, -8, …
• The difference is called the common difference .
• Write the next three terms of each sequence. Then state whether each sequence is arithmetic.
• To send a fax, an office supply store charges \$2.50 for the first page and \$1.25 for each additional page. How much will it cost to send a 6-page fax?
