  16.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      NEW WAY OF MANAGEMENT   PORTFOLIO OF FEEDBACK WEEKS 1 – 9   FEEDBACK FOR :   STEVE RAYSON   Throughout the New Way of Management e-learning programme we asked you to work through each module, then detail   ‘ What you are currently doing to meet expectations?’ ‘ What you will do going forward to meet them? ‘ What assistance do you require to help to get there?   As part of the conclusion for the New Way of Management on-line modules, it’s time to review this information with your manager in preparation for your Straight Talking review.   Week 1 - Driving People Performance First I am new to the management team and currently only acting on a temp basis, however I have:    1) Set monthly 1:1 with all the team members  2) Asked them all to define their roles  3) Created a skills matrix for all to complete to identify strengths and areas of training.    Although I will have two formal Straight Talking sessions, I will also add this an an agenda item at the monthly 1:1 to make sure that objectives and PDP are kept up to date.    I have noted the point regarding making a formal record of the meeting, currently we just take notes but nothing is published so i will take this on.    Help:    I would like help on understanding the Straight Talking Process and specifically how we as a company are able to determine the recommendations. How does someone go from "Solid Performer" to "Outstanding" as the influence budget restraints may have on determining the final marking.    Finally:    The main issue I have is finding rooms!   Week 2 - Making Development Happen As mentioned before, I am currently only a temp team leader, however over 60% of the team is new starters, with 80% of these new in the mast few months.     I have set up a "buddy" system and aligned experienced team members with a new starter to help them through the
