Just because I’m different,
Doesn’t mean you’re cooler than me,
Doesn’t mean I’m weird,
Doesn’t mean I’m different,
Just because I’m smart,
Doesn’t mean you can pick on me,
Doesn’t mean I’m dumb,
Doesn’t mean I’m perfect,
Just because I’m different,
Doesn’t mean I’m more athletic than you,
doesn’t mean I’m stronger than you,
Doesn’t mean that no matter what we’re all the same.

Just because I’m white
Doesn’t mean I hate other people
Doesn’t mean I’m dumb
Doesn’t mean I’m better then people
Just because I have long hair
Doesn’t mean I’m a girl
Doesn’t mean I’m ugly
Doesn’t mean I’m fat
Just because I’m poor
Doesn’t mean I have handy downs
Doesn’t mean I live on the street
Doesn’t mean I don’t have food

Just because I’m smart
Doesn’t mean I can answer every question.
Doesn’t mean I will be a scientist.
Doesn’t mean I don’t have a hard time in school.
Just because I’m mature
Doesn’t mean I can’t have fun.
Doesn’t mean I won’t act goofy.
Doesn’t mean I won’t make mistakes.
Just because I like sewing
Doesn't mean I’m old fashioned.
Doesn’t mean I don’t like shopping
Doesn’t mean I’m weird.

Just because I play video games doesn’t mean I’m violent it
doesn’t mean I don't have many friends it doesn’t mean I’m a
future terrorist
Just because I wear glasses doesn’t mean I have four eyes it
doesn’t mean I’m a nerd it doesn’t mean I’m smarter than
you
Just because I’m someone who doesn’t watch sports
doesn't mean I don’t have a favorite team it doesn’t mean I
don’t like playing sports it doesn’t mean I’m not athletic

Just because I play video games doesn’t mean I don’t get outside.
Doesn’t mean I have every game that comes out.
Doesn’t mean I'm very good at it.
Just because I get into disagreements
Doesn’t mean I'm a bad kid.
Doesn’t mean I'm dumb.
Just because I'm smart doesn’t mean I'm a nerd
Doesn’t mean I get picked on
Doesn’t mean I get beat up

IF I WERE IN CHARGE OF
THE WORLD…

If I were in charge of the world I’d help people who
are poor. I’d have less school and I’d give food to the
hungry.
If I were in charge of the world there’d be more
football teams. There’d be no more war and there
wouldn’t be bullying.
If I were in charge of the world you wouldn’t have to
lock your doors at night. You wouldn’t have to be
scared to go to school and you would never be
hungry or homeless.

If I were in charge of the world I’d save the
animals,
Stop pollution,
And make sure no one is left out.
There’d be polar bears as pets,
Nobody will be mean,
And school doesn’t start until 10:00am.
If I were in charge of the world you wouldn’t
have to wake up early,
You wouldn’t get sick from candy (you can
still eat it!),
You wouldn’t have a bedtime,
Or need money.

I used to be small but now I’m taller.
I used to not like sports but now I like sports.
I used to be shy but now I’m not shy.
I used to have a cat but now I have a dog.
I used to not have good handwriting but now I have good
handwriting.

I used to be a pest,
But now I’m not,
I used to cry about my problems’
But now I solve them,
I used to be small and scared,
But now I’m big and proud,
I used to wear a diaper,
But now I wear boxers,
I used to be young and not smart,
But now I’m older and

I used to fall off when riding
But now I hold on
I used to be afraid of falling
But now I just enjoy riding
I used to have to stretch to get on But now I just climb the fence
I used to have bumpy rides
But now they are becoming smoother
I used to have lots of rodeos
But now I can control my horse enough that those don’t happen

I used to play video games all day but now I get
out side more I used to eat unhealthy but now I eat
more healthy I used to not sleep well but now I
sleep better I used to lie a lot but now I don’t lie as
much I used to be lazy but now I’m more active

I used to pick my nose but now I don’t
I used to play Nintendo but now I play Xbox 360
I used to play pretend army but now I play it on Xbox
I used to swallow gum but now I spit it out when its done
I used to be in 4th grade but now I'm in 5th grade

I am from nature, books, and love.
I am from my house in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
I am from a polar bear.
I am from our Moscow trips.
I am from my mom, dad, and siblings.
I am from the loving, caring, and silly family that I have.
F rom try your best and treat others the way you want to
be treated.
I am from Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Moscow,
and Oregon.
I am from burritos and ice-cream.
From the day I got pet kitty, Snowball.

Today I am like an eagle,
Yesterday I was like a hawk,
To my mom I am like a
treasure,
To my dad I am like an
athlete,
My friends think I am like a
one of a kind friend,

Today I’m like a football in the air.
Yesterday I was like a twig being
snapped in half.
To my mom I’m like an angel from
the heavens.
To my dad I’m like a lucky charm.
To my friends I’m like a treasure
chest holding all their secrets.
Really I’m a 10 year old boy.

I Am Like
Today I am like an eagle, wanting to soar
with my learning.
Yesterday I was like a cat, quiet in class but
hyper out side.
To my mom I am like a star, shining bright
with who I am.
To my dad I am like music, entertaining in all
ways.
To my friends I am like a rabbit, always
bouncing with happiness.
Really I am like a peacock, proud of who I
am, colorful and bright, and of course, loving.

Today I’m a sloth because I’m being lazy yesterday I
was a cat being scared of everything to my mom I’m a
nice young boy to my dad I’m like a playful young boy
my friends think I’m a nice kid really I’m all of the above

Today I'm as open as a book
Yesterday I was as lost as treasure
To my mom I'm as clear as mud
To my dad I'm as lazy as a panda
To my friends I'm a active kid
Really I'm a big lazy panda bear

Dear mom,
I would like to tell you that you mean the world,
You tell me that I’ll make it,
You tell me that everything’s going to be okay,
You tell me that I make you proud,
I would like to tell you,
You’re the reason I’ve got this far,
So during our next encounter,
When you put me in a good mood,
I will say thank you,
I will say I love you,
And that’s a promise.

Dear Mom,
I would like to tell you that I love you.
You tell me that you love me.
You tell my to do well in school.
You tell me to do my best.
I would like to tell you thank you for you’re
support.
So during our next encounter when you see me
I will tell you I'm glad to be with you.
I will tell you I’m glad you’re my mother
And that’s a promise

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I want to tell you thanks for everything.
You tell me don’t give up.
You tell me don’t be afraid.
You tell me I will be there for you.
I would like to tell you I love you.
So during our next encounter when you say, “how was
school?”
I will thank you for being there for me.
I will say you are the best grandparents.
And that’s a promise.

Dear cousin
I would like to tell you that you are awesome
You tell me to teach you how to knit
You tell me we won’t but we do anyway
You tell me that we won’t have fun but we do
anyway
I would like to tell you that you are funny
So during our next encounter
When we go outside we will do something
stupid
I will make sure that it happens
I will make sure that one of us starts laughing
AND THAT’S A PROMISE!

If my fist could speak it would tell people not to bully
If my feet could speak they would say they stink.
If my ears could speak they'd say keep feeding me knowledge
If my heart could speak it would say give me oxygen
If my brain could deal with everything it would want to ask how to start world peace

If my fist could speak , they would tell
you “I hit many people before.”
If my feet could speak , they would tell
you “we never get enough exercise.”
If my eyes could speak , they would tell
you “I’ve seen many awesome sights.”
If my heart could speak it would tell
you “I’m full of pride.”
If my brain could deal with everything
,it would want to ask “ Why can’t I see
stuff and take a break

If my hand could speak it would say stop catching that
football, it hurts.
If my feet could speak they would say it’s hot in these
shoes.
If my ears could speak they would ask why it’s so loud.
If my eyes could speak they would ask why it’s so bright.
If my heart could speak it would say pumping blood is
hard.
If my brain could deal with everything it would want to
ask can I help.

If my hand could speak it would tell you, "thank
you for holding me when I needed to be held.”
If my feet could speak they would tell you, “ I’ve
felt so many different and unique surfaces.”
If my ears could speak they would tell you, “
thanks for all the caring and thoughtful words
you’ve said to me.”
If my eyes could speak they would tell you, “I
can’t wait to see you.”
If my heart could speak it would tell you, “ I love
you very much.”
If my brain could deal with everything, it would
want to ask, “ why are people so violent?”

If my fist could speak it would tell you to loosen your reins
If my feet could speak they would tell you to keep your heels
down
If my ears could speak they would tell you to never listen to what
your horse wants
If my eyes could speak they would tell you to never look back
(seriously because if you do you would end up turning your
horse the other way!)
If my heart could speak it would tell you to learn from your
mistakes
If my brain could deal with everything it would ask what are you
doing?

If my fist could talk it would tell you how many problems
it had to fight if my feet could talk they would tell you
how many problems they had to run away from if my
ears could speak, they would tell you how mean people
are if ma heart could speak, they would tell you how
many friendships are broken if my brain could deal with
everything, it would want to ask why are their bullies in
schools

I am from football, basketball, and eating.
I am from my house.
I am from my dog.
I am from Christmas.
I am from my mom, my dad, and my grandpa.
I am from a big family.
From don’t believe everything you hear and don’t do
stupid things.
I am from Coeur d’Alene.
I am from fish and carrots.
From the time I went camping.

I am a curious and special girl.
I wonder what the future will be like.
I hear many wonderful sounds.
I see so many possibilities for the world to
become better.
I want with all my heart to be a lawyer.
I pretend I like people that I don’t like.
I feel like I am under a lot of pressure.
I touch and reach out to new things.
I understand that money is a powerful tool in
life.
I say never give up on your dreams.
I try to be the best I can be.
I hope to be successful.

I Am
I am a student who loves being in nature.
I wonder if you do to?
I hear the peacefulness in the air,
I see beautiful things everywhere,
I want to be out in nature with my family all the time,
I pretend there is nothing to worry about,
I feel a feeling that I love,
I touch the plants and leaves that are cool,
I worry about pollution,
I cry when an animal dies,
I understand I cannot save all nature,
I say I still have to try,
I dream of forests with animals everywhere,
I try to be out all the time,
I hope I never stop loving,

I wonder if I will have an obedient horse
I hear my horse pawing the ground impatiently
I see the best horse in the world
I want to enjoy life with my horse
I am a person
I pretend that my horse is an oversized teddy bear
I feel happy
I touch my horse’s muzzle
I worry about showing well
I cry not very often
I am a person
I understand that my horse isn’t perfect
I say he is a wonderful horse
I dream of taking my horse to the fair
I try to correct our mistakes
I hope that we can be better as a team and as individuals
I am a person
