3. In the contemporary art Dr. Ivan Uzunov is one of the rare artists who makes
everything his brush touches in a poetry way. His paintings always radiate
gentle lyricism that proves the great love with which the author approaches
the process of painting.
In his beautiful still life, simple household objects acquire the status of haiku
and something very gentle and intimate pulls some forgotten strings in the
heart of the viewer. His oil paintings have a watercolour integrity and
transparency and the airy manner of his brush makes his subtle poetic style
unique.

Biography:
Born on 10th June 1958 in Gabrovo. He graduated in 1982 the Faculty of
Fine Arts at the University "St.St Cyril and Methodius ".
He is currently Associate Professor of Painting and Head of the Department
"Painting."
He has made over 23 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal and the
USA.
He has participated in dozens of group exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad.
Awards:
2009 - Nomination for painting in the National Competition "Allianz
Bulgaria" Ruse
1999 - Award from the Ministry of education for Painting, National
Exhibition of artists and educators, Veliko Turnovo;
1997 - Diploma of the Papal Nuncio and the Gold medal for his compositions
in the church in Cazeaux, Italy.
