Intelligence can be understood through multiple lenses rather than a single general intelligence. Howard Gardner proposed eight types of intelligence including logical-mathematical intelligence, linguistic intelligence, spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, and naturalist intelligence. One type is interpersonal intelligence which refers to the capacity to understand the intentions, motivations and desires of other people, which allows people to work effectively with others.
