Students will learn to order snacks and beverages in a café.
They will learn to ask about prices and pay for their food/drinks.

Lesson Plan Sequence of Events – give day-to-day details:
Day 1: Presentation of new vocabulary. TPR story: Ms. Schocher tells a story all in
French. She is walking with her dog bijou and they are both hungry and thirsty. She finds
money in her pocket counts it. She points to a café et….. Listening + Visuals (50
minutes)
Day 2: Show a YouTtube video with pictures and pronunciation. Students listen and
repeat food and beverage items in French. Emphasis on I would like and polite forms.
Students are in groups and practice mentioning food and beverages that they would like
to order. Review numbers. (50 minutes)
Day 3: I show students how to use Quizlet to help them memorize their new vocab.
I post homework on Edmodo and show students where they can view the video and find
the folders. Spelling and reading practice in French (numbers, food, beverages). (50
minutes)
Day 4: I post a vocab quiz on Edmodo and students take the quiz online during class. We
watch a video of people ordering food in France. Students learn how to prepare a crêpe

and a quiche. We practice spelling of the vocabulary. We use mini white board. I ask
students to create their own flashcards using studyblue and send me the link on Edmodo
to verify that they did it. I ask them to get into groups I give them real French menu and
they must fill a graphic organizer showing the differences and find the borrowed food
from other culture/countries. Students use their smartphone to convert Euros into dollars
to rate the restaurant as expensive or cheap or affordable. Homework on Edmodo (writing
and mini cultural quiz) (102 minutes)

Accommodations for Differentiated Instruction
Resource Student: Shorter task, one on one help during intervention (Thursday and
Friday with 36 minutes sessions)
Gifted Student: Students will visit cafés and restaurants online and prepare a
review by listing the food and the price. They can prepare a QR
