The Learning Disability Qualification (LDQ) Training Courses award supersedes the Working with People with Learning Disabilities (LDAF award) and is based on a framework developed by Skills For Care and the Valuing People Support Team. The course is aimed at all people working with individuals who have a learning disability. The intention for these qualifications is to benefit candidates by developing their skills and facilitating career progression and to benefit employers by providing certificated evidence that the employers have fulfilled their responsibility to provide learning to their workers that meets Common Induction Standards. It is expected that all new employees working with people with learning disabilities will undertake this award as the areas covered in the units of the awards are closely aligned to codes of conduct and practice, and the Common Induction Standards for the sector.

Course Description:
This award supersedes the Working with People with Learning Disabilities (LDAF award)

It is expected that all new employees working with people with learning disabilities will

Course Outline:
There are four mandatory units which can be undertaken at level 2 or 3 or the units can
be taken individually for CPD purposes. Each unit will take 1 month to complete and the
overall course will take 4 months.
The Units are as follows:
• Principles of learning disabilities support
• Your role as a learning disability worker
• Health and safety in a learning disability service
• Protecting people who have learning disabilities from abuse

Candidate will need to complete a portfolio
Certification:
All delegates will receive a certificate after completion of each unit has been completed

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues
