The jointBRP’sof SAA,Mr. Les Matusonand Mr. Siviwe Dongwana have notedthe commentsmade
by the relevantunions,the variousProvincial Governments,the DPEandthe SACPregardingour
recentactionswithrespecttorestructuringSAA intoa financiallysustainableentity.
“The decisionswe tookandinformedthe publicof thisweekweretakeninthe bestinterestsof SAA.
Theyare intendedtomake the airline commerciallyandoperationallysustainable,free fromthe
requirementof future fundingfromthe Governmentpostthe implementationof the restructure”,

The actionsare aimedat improvingSAA’sbalance sheetwhichisintendedtocreate a platformfora
strongand sustainable airline andsoensure thatthe companyismore attractive for potential
strategicequitypartners.
The BRPs concluded,“We recognize the concernsraised,especiallyaroundthe domesticroutes.We
will continue toengage withstakeholders,withacommitmenttoinclude inputsintothe final
businessrescue plan,whichisdue tobe publishedbythe endof thismonth”.
