The South African Department of Health released a media statement providing an update on COVID-19 cases in the country as of June 26, 2020. There were a total of 124,590 confirmed cases, with the majority (46.5%) in the Western Cape province. 48 new deaths brought the total to 2,340, with a mortality rate of 1.9% and 51.5% recovery rate. Testing data showed 1,493,104 total tests conducted, with private facilities accounting for 59% of the 33,092 new tests reported.
