This year’s gala at The Grove of Anaheim will continue the tradition of honoring American heroes. Event proceeds will
bene t The Joe Foss Institute and Wounded Warrior Project. Additional support will bene t Chapman University and
The Muhammad Ali Center.

Recognizing individuals and organizations that have had a positive e ect – by inspiration or by action – on
the lives of those who have struggled with disease, loss or adverse situations.
The inaugural Life Changing Lives – “Success Outside the Game” gala honored sports legends John Elway, Dave
Win eld, and Tony Hawk for their success and contributions outside the sports arena. The sold-out event raised
nearly $1 million for charities, including Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and
Orangewood Children’s Foundation. Subsequent galas have honored boxing champion Sugar Ray Leonard,
Olympic gold medalist Apolo Ohno, “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts, NASA Astronaut and moon-
walker, Charlie Duke, Medal of Honer recipient, Tibor Rubin, and Tuskegee Airman Mitch Higgenbotham.
Celebrity performers and attendees have included: “The Soprano’s” award-winning cast, Rodney Peete and Holly
Robinson-Peete, Emmy Award winner Roy Firestone, platinum recording artist Elliott Yamin, Broadway star and
actress Jenifer Lewis, along with several top performers and winners from the hit television shows “American
Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”
