To present the relevance of Confucian leadership values, benevolence and etiquette, in modern Chinese society, a research was conducted using microblogging websites Weibo and Twitter. Weibo is a web based service operating in China that provides us an insight to the local values. Twitter on the other side operates internationally, except in China, that provides us an insight to the international values. Together with the analysis for the search keyword “political scandal” and also the posts and users, the result reflects the leader’s values in China. This research found that China is valuing leader’s holistic life 25% more than the international average. When looking at the leaders, either paternalistic or transformational, “political scandal” is a good depiction of the society’s view as it can be a relative base point for comparison as it includes the society’s opinion and the leader’s outcome of private and work life. As leaders in the political field are also dealing with management, similarly to the business field, it can be drawn together with the Confucian effect towards management. The Confucian values are still present in China and even stronger than in other countries. This makes it vital for the current and future leaders to follow the benevolence and etiquette principles both in private and work life.
