ECONOMIC UPDATES
 The RBI has decided to revise the currency benchmark, and suggested that
the ratio of dollar reserves be raised by 10 percentage points — from the
current upper limit of 57 per cent to 67 per cent.
 MFs launch 75 equity NFOs in 2014; mobilised assets worth Rs 12,220
crore. 51 are close-ended products which garnered Rs 9,600 crore.
 Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) are set to make a return this year, with
private equity (PE)-backed companies asking investment bankers for help
to give their investors an exit route.

RBI/TAX LAW UPDATES
 Vide Notification ref RBI/2014-15/396 DBR.No.BP.BC .58/21.06.201/
201 4 -15 dated January 8, 2015, The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) revised
the guidelines for leverage ratio framework under the Basel III and the
relevant disclosure norms.
 RBI has increased the quantum of loan that could be granted under the
Gold Loan – Bullet Repayment scheme, from Rs. 1.00 lakh to Rs. 2.00
lakh. (RBI Circular ref RBI/2014-15/395 DCBR.CO.BPD
(RCB).Cir.No.11/13.05.001/2014-15 dated January 08, 2015).
