COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Course Name Training Description
New York State requires that all construction workers involved in public works
have a 10hr Construction OSHA Card. New York City requires that construction
workers involved in projects that require a Site Safety Plan, being over 100,000
OSHA 10 and 30hr Construction Safety Training square feet or over 10 stories in height, have a 10Hr Construction OSHA Card
that has been issued within the past 5 years. Many other State, Local, and
Private Industries require 30hr Construction OSHA Cards for foreman and
supervisors
From New York State Department of Transportation Standard Specifications:
"Flagger Training. All flaggers shall be adequately trained in flagging operations
by recognized training programs. When requested by the Engineer, flaggers

shall demonstrate their competency in flagging procedures. Flaggers not
competent in flagging procedures to the satisfaction of the Engineer shall be
retrained or replaced at once.
This course is required to use any type of suspended scaffold, electric or rope,
16hr Suspended Scaffold Spanish
regardless of height. Certifications cannot be more than 4 years old.
On Suspended Scaffold Jobs in NYC at least one person per job site must be
32hr Rigging Foreman English designated as a Rigging Foreman with the 32hr Rigging Foreman Certificate.
Class held once a month.
Local Law 52 requires all Scaffold Erectors to take a 32 Hour Erectors course.
Who are Scaffold Erectors? Anyone who sets up, dismantles, moves planking,
or modifies a supported scaffold that is 40' tall or taller. At times scaffolds less
than 40' can also require 32hr Pipe Scaffold Certifications, especially if they are
32hr Pipe Scaffold Erector Erect/Dismantle/Alter
set up next to the edge of buildings. Do your guys move planks? Do they adjust
tie in locations? Do they set up small scaffolds on setbacks or roof tops? Failure
to comply is up to a $5,000.00 fine. Plastic Photo certificates will be issued and
are good for four years.
The 40hr Site Safety Course is a much more in-depth study of Local Law 33 and
how it relates to NYC Construction. This class is required for those who apply to
40hr Site Safety Manager/Coordinator become NYC Site Safety Managers or NYC Site Safety Coordinators. If you can
qualify as a Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator you can find stable
employment, or save your company thousands of dollars in fees.
This course is the EPA model course for Certified Renovators and as such meets
all requirements in 40 CFR 745.90. • This course will teach you how to comply
EPA RRP Certified Renovator with the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule and the HUD Lead Safe
Housing Rule, and how to perform lead-safe work practices safely and
effectively.
